Ministry Operations Team:
While some churches are organized around a hierarchical or “episcopal” model where authority is vested in bishops of various statures (i.e., Roman Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist, Lutheran), others are based on a “Presbyterian” model where church elders are charged with much decision-making. Yet another biblical model for church organization is the “congregational” wherein authority is vested collectively in the body of believers.
Though non-denominational, Christ Church of Peace follows the congregational model. As a local body of believers, our congregation is ultimately responsible for making or delegating all decision-making.
Our bylaws were revised at our Annual Congregational Meeting on 10/21/21 and linked here for your consideration. → CCOPBylaws(Rev10-2021)
At Christ Church of Peace, a Ministry Operations Team (MOT) serves as the board of our corporation and oversees the church, its pastor and staff. Serving our congregation are:
Pastor Rev. Kenneth Walsh
Pastor of Worship Arts Rev. Michael Feltman
Church Administrator John Schumpert
Treasurer Russ B.
Assistant Treasurer Al R.
MOT Moderator Reid E.
MOT Vice Moderator Rae R.
MOT Secretary John S.
MOT Member Donna D.
MOT Member Jim T.
MOT Member Shirley B.
At our Annual Congregational Meeting on 10/21/21 we voted to amend our bylaws and restore the MOT from 8 members to 6 members. We also amended the bylaws to adjust for establishment of a quorum in MOT meetings.
We reelected Michael S. and Robert B., and elected Denise Dame, each for a one-year term on the Ministry Operations Team. We re-elected Reid and elected Timm and Mike F. each for their two-year terms on the Ministry Operations Team. At the MOT meeting immediately following the ACM, Michael was elected Moderator, Reid was elected Vice Moderator and Robert was reelected Secretary.
At the ACM on 10/20/24 we re-elected Donna, Rae, and John for their last two-year terms before taking a required one year break. Existing MOT members Reid, Jim, and Shirley are serving their second year of their terms. Jim and Shirley will be eligible to run for re-election in October 2025. Reid will be required to take a one-year break from serving on the MOT. During the ACM, the MOT re-elected all officers: Reid (Moderator), Rae (Vice Moderator), and John (Secretary).
